Optimizing controlled exfoliation and healthy skin renewal
Preparation
Discontinue Actives
Stop using Retinol, AHAs, or BHAs 3-5 days prior to your appointment to prevent over-exfoliation and sensitivity.
Sun Exposure
Avoid sunburn or excessive sun exposure for 1 week before treatment. We cannot treat inflamed or burnt skin.
Active Breakouts
Treatment cannot be performed over active, inflamed acne or cold sores. If you are experiencing a breakout, please let us know.
Hair Removal
Do not wax, thread, or use depilatory creams on the face for 1 week prior, as the dermaplaning will remove the facial hair anyway.
Aftercare
Keep it Gentle
Use only a gentle, non-foaming cleanser and a rich, hydrating moisturizer for the first 48 hours to soothe the fresh skin.
Avoid Heat & Sweat
Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, and steam rooms for 24-48 hours, as the skin is more prone to irritation immediately after.
Sun Protection
Your fresh skin is highly susceptible to UV damage. Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 50 every single day, even if indoors.
Hold Off on Actives
Wait at least 3-5 days before reintroducing Retinol, Vitamin C, or exfoliating acids (AHAs/BHAs) back into your routine.
